Catch is a digital experience agency, focused on combining technology and storytelling to create value for a wide range of organisations. Having called this vibrant part of London its home for over 12 years, the Catch team decided they wanted to stay in the neighbourhood, but it was time to upgrade with a move to a converted top floor space, which spreads across two stunning Georgian buildings on Argyll Street. We were asked to support the team with a custom design and to project manage the build of their spectacular new workplace.

In a similar way to how the agency merges the new digital world with the old tradition of storytelling, we were tasked with creating a space that would complement the existing Georgian features – such as the timber herringbone flooring and exposed fireplaces – as well as the modern and data-focussed design that the company is known for.

The Build

The team needed a space that could facilitate collaborative and creative working but that also provided individuals with a quiet place for concentration. We implemented Crittal style glass partitioning systems which created a boardroom, meeting room and an office for the team but that also made the most of the beautiful natural light that shines through the huge skylights. Wherever you are in the office, or however you’re working, you never lose that all important feeling of collaboration and cohesion.

The interior design took inspiration from the old – reclaimed timber feature wall panels and shelving – and the new, from exposed galvanised cable trays and a conduit for power and data services to bespoke fabricated metal screens. These guys are pragmatic too, so we wanted the space to reflect that, with solar blinds and wall mounted bike racks.

This team is super social, so we gave them a new kitchen to chill out in, with feature tiled splashback. The build was finished off with new decorations throughout, including artwork chosen by the client, some luxurious rugs and existing furniture along with the agency’s battle ground, otherwise known as, the foosball table.
